Wireshark (earlier Ethereal)

Wireshark is a free network packet analyzer. A network packet analyzer tries to capture network packets and display that packet data as detailed as possible. It is used to trouble shoot networks, examine security problems and debug protocol implementations. In June 2006, the project was renamed from Ethereal to Wireshark due to trademark issues.
